We (Still) Do: Liberty Mountain Resort Wedding Vow Renewal
To date, Andy and I have gotten married every year we’ve been married. I know that’s just two weddings and two years, but it’s been two years full of impulsive AND calculated decisions. The first time around, we decided to elope (read more about that here) after a health scare made us ask, "what have we been waiting for?" The second time was purely for me and my need to have a princess moment. Lucky for me, Andy wanted me to have that moment. While our elopement was exactly what we needed at the time, I felt so much love at our renewal having family and friends around. I’m really glad we had a ceremony and that we got the chance to say “we still do.” I’m excited to share all of the details with you.
Our renewal took place at Liberty Mountain Resort last November. The design inspiration was tons of greenery, neutrals, blush tones, and gold (I’m Greek and just can’t get enough gold). Our wedding day was truly a family event. My family covered photography, cake, veil, and so much more.
Mother Nature blessed the day with perfect early fall weather. The leaves were at their brightest and the bridal party sipped champagne as we got ready for the day. The tears started to flow as my maid of honor delivered a note from Andy which said “6 years to the day.” It took me a moment to realize we had actually met 6 years ago to this exact date! It was a thoughtful gesture that set the tone for how special the day really was. When it was finally time to walk down the aisle, I got butterflies but remembered I was already married and quickly settled back down. I was flooded with a rush of emotion as we read our vows in front of family and friends. Honestly, I’m so glad we invested in a videographer because the whole day flew by and I couldn’t remember a word of what was said. After the ceremony, guests easily transitioned to an outdoor happy hour on the patio with two signature cocktails (a grapefruit gimlet and bourbon lemonade) and then moved inside for dinner. On the menu was a traditional moussaka made by the chef at Liberty Mountain Resort. He knocked the dish out of the park and I actually ate dinner on my wedding day! Following dinner, we got rowdy on the dance floor.
